Happy Summertime!

I can’t believe we’re almost half way through summer. They’re already talking about going back to school. I’ve been fairly busy.  I went to the RWA National conference in Denver. It was fun and always good to see friends you only get to see once a year and to pout faces to names of new people you’ve met online.

My first workshop was the one put on by the Kiss of Death writing chapter.  It was an all day workshop with eight ATF agents speaking to us. ATF stands for Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and explosives. The topics included an overview of the local Denver office, which includes Utah. Did you know that Salt Lake City, Utah has the highest crime rate? We had a certified Fire Investigator, a certified explosive expert, an equipment specialist (gun smith and crime gun intelligence. We learned about drug and explosive sniffing dogs and one of the agents brought in his drug sniffing dog. She was the hit of the day.

I also managed a few other workshops on marketing and ads, which I’m hoping to put to use.

I got my edits for back from my editor The Fourth Victim, first in The Foundation series, and I’m starting to work on them. I hope to have it finished by the end of the month. I also hope to have a cover for the book by then. That’s always exciting.

Along with editing, I’m taking part in a promo at https://www.booksandmore.club/august-book-fair.  Drop by, check out, and enter the giveaways. And on August 20th, I’m doing a guest blog on Rochelle Weber’s blog site, https://rochelleweber.blogspot.com. Drop by and say hi.

My web person is also getting me listed, working on SEO’s, for my website. That’s exciting.

On a personal side, that could interfere with some of my plans, the first of the month we had a windstorm (mini-burst) in Tucson and lost the roof on part of our park model and the deck, as well as losing the carport and my little donkey in the front of the place.

🙁 Check the pictures

So we’re working with the insurance company on getting things fixed. I may have to fly down this month – not in my plans. We’ll see.

And I’m still planning on doing a newsletter. Hopefully you’ll sign up to get it. I’m only looking at doing one about every 3-4 months.

See you next month.

I hope some of you have checked out at least parts of my website. One of the workshops offered at the RWA convention is Newsletters. I’m hoping I can get to it, and get in. Then my plan is to do a newsletter. The class is on Wednesday before the conference officially begins, so I’m hoping to make it. Hopefully you’ll sign up to get it. I’m only looking at doing one about every 3-4 months.

The Fourth Victim, first in The Foundation series, is finished and at the editor. It should be back around the end of the month and then it’s time for another edit. In the meantime I’m starting work on The Liability Wife, book two in the series.

I’m attending the Romance Writers of America’s National conference from July 20-23. Kiss of Death, my writing chapter, has an all day workshop on July 17th. The Denver Field Office of the ATF will be sending Special Agents knowledgeable in many areas including explosives, bombs, firearms trafficking, criminal profiling, financial investigation and the K-0 program, plus a few more to talk to us and answer all our questions. And then July 18th is the Kiss of Death, writing contest awards, The Daphne’s, with writers, authors, editors and agents and sooo much chocolate.

I’m also going to see a lot of writing friends that I haven’t seen since last year. Lots of fun – can’t wait. When I get back I’ll share some information from some of the workshops.

Enjoy your summer.

I’m finally back. It’s been a long time since I posted. If you check around you’ll see I have a new website. I got a new one a year ago but it didn’t work out and I couldn’t get anything posted, so I kind of gave up until the contract ran out. Now I’m thrilled with my new site and web person and I’m getting excited about my writing again.

This month, June, I got a new website. Yeah! I’ve almost finished Sara’s story, the first in my The Foundation series. It’s about women helping women with a touch of paranormal and of course romance. One more read through and it’s off to the editor. I’m also doing guest blog spots on Romance 4 Us at https://romancebooks4us.blogspot.com/ on June 18th; Zara West Romance blog at http://www.zarawestsuspense.com/category/authors/interviews/ on June 20th at and The Roses of Prose at http://rosesofprose.blogspot.com/p/blogging-calendar.html on June 25th.  Drop by, check out some new websites and say “hi”.

I’ll be back with more news for July – conference time!
